About Us
We’re a highly collaborative and supportive team, coming together on every project to ensure our clients get the very best result.
Humble Beginnings
Our journey into the Shell-Eco Marathon began in a garage, floating on the dreams of four friends with a passion for mechanical engineering and tinkering. Our founding members were concerned with the rising costs of gasoline and our vehicles’ impact for the changing world. We wanted to do our part to help–while at the same time expanding past our restrictive school curriculum–and we eventually landed on the Shell Eco Marathon, a prestigious collegiate competition.
First Foray
The task was simple (or complicated depending how you look at it): build an entire car from scratch, from the chassis to the electronics to the powertrain. We were challenged by so many different aspects of engineering: 3D designing, coding, physically building, documenting. For many of our members, this was their first experience with such tasks.

The First Obstacle
We rallied our community and raised over two thousand dollars for our project. However, we fell into the inevitable traps of a first year team: material delays, untrustworthy vendors, poor team time management, costing us three months and a ton of our initial budget. Despite this, our team’s spirit held strong. We formulated build schedules for the next few months, rallied, and day and night we put our all into the project.
A Critical Moment

Despite working overdrive for the next three months, spending days and nights welding, grinding, and designing, it wasn’t enough. The day we decided to cut our losses for the year still burns deeply in all of our minds: we had spent nearly a week designing and installing our wheels and brake system. We meticulously planned out the angle and height at which we would weld the steel, worked out the logistics of wiring the steering system and engine, and figured out ways to curve the body panels. Countless hours of work, and in the end, it didn’t matter. The brake system we had bought simply didn’t work with our build design due to an issue the seller had neglected to mention. Our car was trapped in the garage.

A Mentor
In our moment of despair, we reached out for help, and it came to us graciously. His name was Nick, and he was a former engineer for Mercedes-Benz in Germany. Currently working as a mobile project manager for tech firms, helping teams is his forte. He has helped us evaluate our cars’ situation, and in our past few meetings, he’s been invaluable in providing advice for our plans next year.
Our Future
We may have had to forfeit our slot in the 2025 Shell-Eco Marathon, but it was only because of our failure that we have all the tools to succeed in the 2026 competition. We now have a fully mapped out plan from now until the competition next April. We now have a full team of truly dedicated team members ready to dedicate the necessary hours to achieve our goal. We now have a mentor, guiding us every step of the way. We may not have had the chance to compete this year, but it is that failure that fuels the fire of our team’s passion, that reminds us that every minute is precious, that will allow us to win in the next.
